Corrosion and Mechanical Properties of Austenic Steel Weld Joints
This paper presents results of experiments on how tungsten, molybdenum and aluminum oxyhydroxide nanopowders, imbedded into the weld pool, affect corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of welded joints. It is shown that nanopowders have a significant effect on the intergranular corrosion of the weld
Event-driven simulation of the state institution activity for the service provision based on business processes
The paper presents an approach, based on business processes, assessment and control of the state of the state institution, the social insurance Fund. The paper describes the application of business processes, such as items with clear measurable parameters that need to be determined, controlled and changed for management. The example of one of the business processes of the state institutions, which shows the ability to solve management tasks, is given. The authors of the paper demonstrate the possibility of applying the mathematical apparatus of imitative simulation for solving management tasks
Long-term Multi-wavelength Observations of GRS 1758-258 and the ADAF Model
We present a long-term multi-wavelength light curve of Galactic black hole
candidate GRS 1758-258 by combining previously published and archival data from
GRANAT, ROSAT, CGRO, RXTE, SAX, ASCA, EXOSAT, and the VLA. In addition we
include first spectral results from the balloon-borne Gamma-ray Arcminute
Telescope Imaging System (GRATIS). In light of divergent analyses of the
1991-1993 ROSAT observations, we have re-analyzed these data; we find the soft
X-rays track the hard X-rays, and that the fits require no black-body
component-- indicating that GRS 1758-258 did not go to the high state in 1993.
We offer an interpretation based on the ADAF model for a system with mdot
\ltsim mdot_crit. We find the 1990-1993 coeval hard and soft X-ray observations
support the ADAF predictions. We discuss a new way to constrain black-hole mass
with spectral data and the ADAF theory, and apply this technique to GRS
1758-258 to find M_1 \gtsim 8--9 M_sol at an assumed distance of 8.5 kpc.
Further investigations of the ADAF model allow us to evaluate the model
critically against the data and flux-flux diagram of Barret, McClintock &
Grindlay (1996) and to understand the limits of the latter's ``X-ray burster
box.''Comment: 32 pp., AASTEX, 8 ps figures, accepted to Ap
A pilot study of cell-mediated gene therapy for spinal cord injury in mini pigs
© 2017 Elsevier B.V.Currently, in clinical practice there is no efficient way to overcome the sequences of neurodegeneration after spinal cord traumatic injury. Using a new experimental model of spinal cord contusion injury on miniature pigs, we proposed to deliver therapeutic genes encoding vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) and neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM) to the damaged area, using umbilical cord blood mononuclear cells (UCBC). In this study, genetically engineered UCBC (2 × 106 cells in 200 ml of saline) were injected intrathecally to mini-pigs 10 days after SCI. Control and experimental mini pigs were observed for 60 days after surgery. Histological, electrophysiological, and clinical evaluation demonstrated significant improvement in animal treated with genetically engineered UCBCs. Difference in recovery of the somatosensory evoked potentials and in histological findings in control and treated animals support the positive effect of the gene-cell constriction for recovery after spinal cord injury. Results of this study suggest that transplantation of UCBCs simultaneously transduced with three recombinant adenoviruses Ad5-VEGF, Ad5-GDNF and Ad5-NCAM represent a novel potentially successful approach for treatment of spinal cord injury
Broadband X-ray spectrum of XTE J1550-564 during 2003 outburst
Results of broadband INTEGRAL and RXTE observations of the Galactic
microquasar XTE J1550-564 during outburst in spring 2003 are presented. During
the outburst the source was found in a canonical low/hard spectral state.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures. Accepted for publication in Astronomy Letter
XTE J1739-302 as a Supergiant Fast X-ray Transient
XTE J1739-302 is a transient X-ray source with unusually short outbursts,
lasting on the order of hours. Here we give a summary of X-ray observations we
have made of this object in outburst with the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer
(RXTE) and at a low level of activity with the Chandra X-ray Observatory, as
well as observations made by other groups. Visible and infrared spectroscopy of
the mass donor of XTE J1739-302 are presented in a companion paper. The X-ray
spectrum is hard both at low levels and in outburst, but somewhat variable, and
there is strong variability in the absorption column from one outburst to
another. Although no pulsation has been observed, the outburst data from
multiple observatories show a characteristic timescale for variability on the
order of 1500-2000 s. The Chandra localization (right ascension 17h 39m 11.58s,
declination -30o 20' 37.6'', J2000) shows that despite being located less than
2 degrees from the Galactic Center and highly absorbed, XTE J1739-302 is
actually a foreground object with a bright optical counterpart. The combination
of a very short outburst timescale and a supergiant companion is shared with
several other recently-discovered systems, forming a class we designate as
Supergiant Fast X-ray Transients (SFXTs). Three persistently bright X-ray
binaries with similar supergiant companions have also produced extremely short,
bright outbursts: Cyg X-1, Vela X-1, and 1E 1145.1-6141.Comment: 16 pages, 7 figures, 2 tables, in press in The Astrophysical Journal;

Спорные термины в анестезиологии и реаниматологии
Medical vocabulary is a part of the Russian language used by the professional community. Most of the terms are borrowed from other languages and poorly understood by most native speakers. The development of medicine, in particular, anesthesiology and resuscitation, leads to the emergence of many new conditions, symptoms, syndromes and their defnitions. The latter often cause controversy among doctors. The article is devoted to some aspects of the appearance of controversial terms in anesthesiology and resuscitation to discuss them.
